Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In addition to natural resources, we also need social and economic resources. Sustainability is not just environmentalism. Embedded in most definitions of sustainability we also find concerns for social equity and economic development.

What is Dubai Can?
Dubai Can is a sustainability initiative by the Crown Prince of Dubai that aims to protect the environment by reducing the use of single-use plastic water bottles all across the city. The citywide initiative encourages organisations, individuals, residents and tourists to use alternatives to single-use plastic water bottles.
This will be achieved by encouraging all to use refillable water bottles and water filters everyday in offices or homes. The key objective of this initiative is to create a change in culture and behaviour by championing a citywide “reduce single-use plastic bottles” movement to ensure that we make a positive impact on the environment.
